I can certainly use a few extra bucks extra income. I鈥檝e heard blood banks pay for people's plasma.
Does anyone have a round figure as to how much they pay?
I鈥檓 figuring on $50 a pint.
I鈥檇 also like to get on a routine schedule of selling pints.
I figure 4 pints a week would be very handy in the form of extra cash. I鈥檝e already starting drinking lots of OJ and sugary snacks to get those levels up.
Lastly, does anybody know if I鈥檇 have to claim this on my taxes as income? If this all works out, I鈥檇 be looking at over $10,000 a year gross selling my blood. I鈥檓 hoping this is non-taxable income.
Answer:
Because plasma is quickly replenished by your body, you can donate plasma as frequently as every 48 hours, but no more than 12 times a year. Additional restrictions vary, however, depending on the center, type of procedure used, and your donation history. Compensation varies and yes, it's taxable according to the IRS...
