How safe is chiropractic practices ?

what are the risk invovled with chiropractic practice ?

i was promised a 5 hour session that hopefully will make me feel much better! what do you think ?
Answer:
It's no where near as risky as people make it out to be. Chiropractors are not GP's. You would not go to one if you had a wart, or a severe cold. They are spinal health specialists, and so any comparison to a doctor is silly.
As with any health care profession there is going to be the good story's and the bad story's. Generally people post more of the bad stories on sites like these to prey on people who have not experienced something like chiropractic.

You should go in with an open mind and listen carefully to what the Chiropractor has to say. If you don't understand something then ask questions. Chiropractors are in general very good at what they do.
Chiropractic is one of the well known complementary medical practice that have effect on musculoskeletal system.
If you is treat by a licensed chiropractic it is safe.
You have an extremelly slight chance of getting hurt...but again, I could win the lottery tomorrow, no matter the odds.

I went to a chiropractor for about 6 months, three times a week for the first two months then twice a week at $40/session which lasted about 20 minutes...you do the math. (plus insurance only starts to pay if you go like the whole year)

I felt better on my problem (a neck problem) but then I developed another problem (hip).
I stopped going when I got tired of being told it was my fault I did not want to heal.

I read about those neck problems and incidents so I never allowed my chiropractor to do things too drastic (I was too chicken...again...my fault) no matter how he said I would feel so good after.

It's pretty scary. Make sure you have someone reliable...and again...
