How to help my Bulimic friend?

What can I do to help her? I can't stop her, and I CAN'T TELL an adult... Its not that bad...Yet..
Answer:
Its not a matter of how bad it is, but the fact that she is harming herself in this way, and believe me it will get worse.
I am a former bulemic, and once you get in the habit, its hard to break. Even now if I eat a particually large meal, I still think, hmmm, if I could get to the bathroom without my partner noticing...

So you need to chat with her quite seriously... someone needs to help her, and it needs to be professional help. I know thats hard for you, but there is nothing you can say that will change her way of thinking, its all in her head.

And bulemia is not necessarily about weight or weight loss, its mostly about control, and control your body, and what you put into (or take out of) your body. It can be quite empowering to do this to your body.

The fact she has told you is a cry for help. Please dont not do anything, you must help her, or she could suffer the consequences for the rest of her life.

Good luck! ;-)
Try intimidating an adult. Maybe he'll tell you.
you need to become more informed about this terrible eating disorder.your friend is lucky to have a friend who cares . this disorder can damage tissue in the throat from gastric juices. it also puts a strain on the heart. check websites for eating disorders and please do it now. you are right, you cant tell her what to do but you can steer her in the right direction. suggest she see a doctor if she has lost self control. good luck.
yes you cannot tell an adult directly because she will no longer trust but you need to know that this is very serious matter and you can't not do something to help. try talking to her... urge her to talk to her parents herself, ask her to see the school psychologist if anything. tell her that she doesnt need to loose weight and especially not that way. and that bulimia is very damaging to the body and it can even cause DEATH.
