How to fall asleep faster?

I cant get to sleep on school nights especially after summer. Does anyone have any tips?? It cant involve milk because I'm allergic to any dairy products.

Answer:
I always find reading gets me dosing off. If you dislike that, then you could try listening to some relaxing music as that also works a treat.
Count sheep.
count to 8 over and over again
or
count sheep jumping over a fence
or
lie on the edge of the bed. you'll soon drop off! (sorry counldnt resist)
i have the same problem, i cant fall asleep till 3 in the morning and i wake up around 12. you may be suffering from insomnia, which is a sleeping disorder. if its not that, it can also be that your sleeping schedule is confusiing your brain.

for example, you shouldn't take naps after 3 in the afternoon cause then your brain will get confused and think that was your nights sleep. also, during the day, you shouldn't have naps for more than an hour.
If I can't sleep do to stress, I do a little exercise in my head where I build something fun in my mind. For you, lets say you like fashion, why not design a dress in your mind, starting with selecting the fabric, then cutting the pattern then laying it out and trimming the fabric, then decide on accent pieces for the front and back, then fine tuning the pannnellll.zzzzzzzzzzz (get the idea?)
try to develop a routine before bed and go to bed at the same time each night
don't drink any caffiene before bed
try not to watch tv or do homework in your bed...leave it just for sleeping
read a book till you get sleepy..unless you're the type that has to finish a book once you start
make sure the room is a comfortable temp
sleeping tablets
take some sleeping pills or go run round the block a few times.
wake up earlier, the earlier you wake up, the more tired you will be at nightitme. also, stick to your usual school routine, for example, if during school days you woke up at 6 am, do that everyday as well.
You could take herbal sleeping pills.
Do ur exercise as late in the afternoon/evening as possible.
Have an early dinner, keeping it a bit on lighter side.
Have a bath before going 2 bed.
If u r habitual of getting a nap in the afternoon, stop it.
Read a book in the bed.
When u close ur eyes, make sure each part of ur body is completely relaxed including ur mind.
a couple of pints of lager works well
Sleeping tablets is not a good idea to get into as very addictive.

Have a soothing cup of herbal camomile tea before bed and spray some lavender spray on your pillow (can get from The Body shop). Also, a warm bath with lavender bath foam in (known for aiding sleep) also works well for me too.
try reading to tire ur eyes out it works 4 me i swear
read, make sure your TV is off, listen to a relaxing nature sounds CD, do not take a nap after school unless it's like a 30 min. power nap...I hope this helps I know it's frustrating
