How much melatonin for a ten year old is to much, say for instance 10 mg every night.?

Answer:
Melatonin isnt usually recommended for a ten year old.
and 10mg is a very hefty dose for an adult!
the normal recommended dose for an adult of normal weight range is 2-3mg

i wouldn't recommend giving a single 10mg dose of melatonin to anyone, much less a 10 year old child!!

please consult your physician and or pharmacist!!
I would not go higher than 5mg at night for anyone without first checking with your doctor.
ask your doc or pharmecest
contact the pediatrician.
Gary you are messing with the child's brain chemistry. Maybe you should speak to a doctor before you decide to use melatonin. I would be more inclined to look at diet in a child who is having sleep problems.
My brother took it when ten-eleven and took about a single 4mg pill. He finally stopped, and after going to a therapist, he figured out that it was the salt before bed. So just a healthier diet. See a healthcare proffesional before starting (as on any medication), though. It should say on the bottle. If the ten year old asks for more, its probably phsycological dependency, and, if fits occur, try a sugar pill. It's all in the head. Even with Insmonia, its still somewhat phsycological.
